Anyone wanting to learn the Luxembourg language should mark September 13 to 15 in their diaries.

The three-day period is when wannabe Luxembourg speakers can sign up for language courses organised by Luxembourg city.

Courses are offered for speakers at a range of different levels, who meet at least twice a week for classes.

Lessons run from October to June and are held around the city at Beggen, Bonnevoie, Cents, the Gare and Hollerich, at a cost of just 75 euros

For jobseekers registered with the ADEM, the cost of the courses is just 5 euros. Anyone signing up to the courses should be eligible for linguistic leave.

Non-residents may also sign up for the courses at the registration event at Luxembourg’s Cultural Centre at the station (29 rue de Strasbourg) from 8 am to 5pm.

Registrations are accepted on a first come first serve basis, so hopefuls should get there early to avoid disappointment.

A complete list of participating colleges and authorities is available from www.men.public.lu

For those who miss the deadline, free online Luxembourgish courses are available from www.elernaing.lu
