The 59-year-old from Mondercange was in a critical state yesterday morning after his vehicle became sandwiched between a lorry and its trailer.

Authorities closed the A1 for several hours while emergency services released the victim.

The collision, which occurred at about 11am, prompted a second car to collide with the victim’s vehicle. The victim died from their injuries on Thursday afternoon.

Two other people involved in the accident received minor injuries.

According to police the victim’s car collided with the trailer as it moved into the right lane.

The road was closed for several hours while emergency services cleared the wreckage.
