Two Luxembourg companies have been linked to a corruption and spying scandal, which has rocked France.

Companies Heine and Eurolux were allegedly used to pay commission to those involved in an illegal arms deal.

The news emerged after a two and a half year investigation into French naval construction firm DCN, which later became DCNS.

An operation, called Mission Bonaparte, found compelling information on Taiwanese frigates, built by DCN. According to its report, DCN used Heine and Eurolux to pay off subcontractors MJM Partners.

Founders of MJM Partners, Claude Thévenet and Michel Mauchand are wanted for corruption charges and receipt of illegal professional secrets.

Heine and Eurolux representative Jean-Marie Boivin was questioned on the allegations as was the former DCNI administrative director.

The investigation conclusion suggests that the actions of those involved have been linked to a terrorist plot in Karachi in May 2002.
