The Union Luxembourgeoise des Consommateur (ULC) commented on the government's programme, sceptical regarding some of their intentions.

They appreciate the government's intention to measure Luxembourg's economical competitiveness objectively by taking social, ecological and economical criteria into account. According to ULC, the consumer's role in essential but the government doe not consider it.

The Union is pleased to note that the government has reached the same conclusion as they have that Luxembourg's underlying inflation is still high.  Concretely, this means that companies are not always prepared to lower their margins to suit the country's economical situation or the consumers.

The ULC backs the government's decision to apply the “Code of Consumption”, but they disagree with the measures taken to harmonise the European consumer rights since they imply a drop in consumer protection.
