Worst weekend of the year for motorists

Motorists are being warned to expect severe delays on the roads this weekend as holiday-makers leave Luxembourg en mass.
In what is expected to be the worst weekend of the year for traffic, many people planning to travel this weekend could face a miserable journey.
According to motoring organisation the Luxembourg Automobile Club (ACL) the fun will begin today (Friday), with heavy traffic expected on the A8 and A9 from 5pm onwards.
The ACL said there will be no reprieve for motorists on Saturday, which is expected to experience the highest traffic levels on all major roads. The same day last year saw five million motorists hit the roads at midday, creating 866 kms of traffic jams.
The traffic should ease on Sunday.
