A large-scale search with a helicopter and dogs for Dieter Fitzner, 78, has been carried out unsuccessfully. On Monday, 12 divers searched the lake in Kockelscheuer using sonar equipment and a boat.

Police are asking people to be on the lookout and report any information by calling 113 or any police station.

Fitzner is reported to be 1.69 meters tall, slim and with a noticeable stoop. He was last seen wearing a grey jacket with the word “MAN” on it, green pants, green shoes and a dark hat with the words “Deutsche Post”.
