At 4.40 a.m. on Friday 12th March, a suicidal man pulled over on the side of the N7 Ingeldorf-Ettelbrück bridge. The man then jumped off the bridge onto the underlying motorway. Shortly afterwards, the man was hit by a car and killed.

The driver, who suffered from severe shock, did not see the body on the ground due to it being very dark. The district attorney's office of Diekirch has ordered an autopsy of the deceased man. Measurement and recognition services have prepared a sketch of the accident.

As a result of the accident, the N7 was closed off in both directions which caused much traffic on Friday morning.
