Lyon has managed a major feat by eliminating one of the favourites for the Champions League, Real Madrid in a deserved a draw on Wednesday at the Santiago-Bernabeu thanks to a goal from Luxembourger Pjanic(1-1, leg: 1-0).

Lyon, the thorn in the side of Real entered the quarterfinals of the Champions League for the 4th time in its history while Madrid have been stopped in for the sixth consecutive time.
A colossal disappointment for a club that spent over 250 million euros last summer in a bid to win the trophy and the Liga in Spain.
19 year old Miralem Pjanic, a Luxembourger of Bosnian origin, arrived two years ago from FC Metz. Snapped up by Lyon, he has certainly proved his worth.
