Belgian motorists have been experiencing an ordeal on the roads lately. After the smog on Monday, the snow caused 950 km of traffic jams yesterday. A situation that has consequences on Luxembourg.

The Belgian government launched a smog alert reducing motorway speed limits to 90km / h.

After the smog, the snow that fell in Belgium caused no less than 950 kilometres of traffic jams yesterday morning covering nearly one third of the nation's motorways.

Motorways closed to trucks due to snow

Motorists spent an average of three hours in their vehicles and the situation does not seem to be getting any better.  Lorries over 3.5 tonnes are now banned from circulation in Belgium due to heavy snowfall that is currently paralysing the Brussels region.

Trucks that cross the border between Luxembourg and Belgium are now being stopped. It is currently unclear when this restriction will be lifted.
