Update 03/10/2010:

On Monday, after the police launched an appeal to a find missing man, 35 year old Alain Wagener, a major search of the wooded area near Kirchberg was carried out by police.

Yesterday Alain Wagener’s body was discovered in the woods by a contingent of some 70 police trainees. 

After first inspection it appears that no third party was involved and that the death was not suspicious.  However an autopsy to be held in the next few days will clarify the true cause of death.

A man was reported missing to Luxembourg police yesterday, in what seems to be a spate of missing people reports recently in the Grand Duchy.

Alain Wagener, aged 35, was last seen in Kirchberg and could well be in this area or in Grünewald or Waldhof.

He was wearing a black tracksuit when he went missing.
