As of 1 January 2012, users pay 3,7 % more
Luxembourg's electricity provider, Enovos, has confirmed that as of 2012 prices for electricity have been raised. One kilowatt-hour (kWh) now costs 13,17 cent, 3,7 % more than last year.
Enovos says this raise has been made necessary by a price increase on the European electricity market, where the provider buys most of its needed electricity.
The 20,000 Enovos users, that signed up to a 3-year fixed price deal, won't be affected by this latest raise.
Luxembourg's electricity prices lie just below the European average, with Denmark currently having the most expensive prices.
