European rugby's most important time of the year is back, with the RBS Six Nations Cup kicked off on Saturday, 4 February.
In an interview with news352.lu, Luxembourg's rugby national coach Marty Davis said, he's interested to see how France fare in the tournament. The key factor will be how new coach France Philippe Saint-André's can switch from club to country rugby. If this switch is successful, France could be favourites to go on and win the tournament, says Davis. However, Luxembourg's national coach will be supporting Wales: “I really appreciate the way the Welsh team plays, I like the open, expansive style of their game. No other 6-Nation team plays in this way. If Wales can stay largely injury-free, they have a chance of winning the tournament.”
Marty Davis therefore sees the encounter between Wales and France, on the last day of the tournament, a this year's key game.
During the last 12 years that he's been living in Europe, Marty Davis has really come to like the Six Nations Cup. Like many rugby fans, he would love to see an annual match between the Six Nations winner and the winner of the Tri-Nations tournament, the southern hemisphere equivalent, even if current calendar clashes make this impossible.
