Almost a third of Luxembourg's residents spend three hours a day watching TV, says a new study by CEPS/Instead on the cultural and media habits of the Grand Duchy's inhabitants. The figures are being compared to the outcome of the same study done ten years ago.
If one includes other screen-based media, like the internet and video games, the average time spent nowadays in front of screens goes up to four hours a day.
The study also says that the participation of Luxembourg residents in cultural activities has risen in recent years. Theatres, dance shows, exhibitions, cinemas, libraries and concert halls have all seen attendances shoot up.
Use of traditional media, such as newspapers and radios, have further declined or stagnated, says the study.
