Yes it was beautiful and moving, especially for any Gunners fan. On Monday night Arsenal living legend Thierry Henry came out of his self-imposed footballing exile to score the winning goal in an FA Cup game against Leeds United. Arsenal fans at the Emirates were left amazed as the French forward, on loan from New York RedBulls, came on as a second-half substitute and finished with a composed side-foot finish, his trademark during his previous time at the club.
The 34-year old, wearing an unfamiliar number 12 shirt, ran straight to manager Arsène Wenger for a hugging frenzy, sparking wild celebrations around the stadium. The goal was made even sweeter as Arsenal had been struggling during the whole game to find a way past a dogged Leeds defence. With top striker Robin van Persie rested and forwards Andrey Arshawin and Marouane Chamakh not finding any luck, Henry was brought on with 22 minutes remaining.
Ten minutes later the moment defining a dream comeback happened.
Henry will now stay with his beloved club until the end of February and will then report back with the RedBulls, the new season in the USA beginning on March 10th.
