A crazy goal by Everton's keeper Tim Howard during his side's 1-2 defeat to bottom-side Bolton was just one of the highlights of a spectacular Wednesday night in the Premier League.
The American goalie hoofed the ball upfront from inside his own area, and with the help of the wind, the ball took a huge bounce and flew into the opposing net. Bolton fought back though and went on to win the game, with Gary Cahill scoring probably his last goal for the club before he moves to Chelsea in January. This win also lifts Bolton off the foot of the table but not out of the relegation zone.
The other surprise of the night was Manchester United's 0-3 defeat by Newcastle. Yohann Cabaye and Demba Ba both hit beautiful goals before Reds defender Phil Jones scored an own goal by showing some very inept defending. This loss leaves United three points behind City.
This weekend the Premier League will take a well-deserved rest and give way to the FA Cup. The first game being Friday's encounter between Liverpool and Oldham. (Image copyright of Fox Soccer)
